STEP 10 - GRILLING WITH PORK

broken image

PORK can be tricky to grill because, if the temperature is too high, it can become dry very quickly. But if the temperature is too low, it can take forever to reach fully cooked status, yet it still ends up too dry because of the longer cooking time.

What can you do? This marinade recipe not only adds flavor to your grilled pork but can also help lock in moisture while grilling. (There are a few other little tips to help keep pork moist and tender during grilling and we’ll share those too.)

ORIENTAL PORK MARINADE RECIPE

• 1/4 cup Olive Oil

• 3 tbsp. Soy Sauce

• 2 tbsp. Rice Vinegar

• 1 tbsp. Organic Honey

• 2 tsp. Fresh Minced Garlic

• 1 tsp. Fresh Grated Ginger

• 10 drops Lemon Essential Oil

• 7 drops Orange Essential Oil

• 2 drops Ginger Essential Oil

Mix all ingredients together and marinate pork a minimum of two hours before grilling. Grill until internal temperature of the thickest part of the pork is 145 degrees Fahrenheit.

TIPS FOR GRILLING PORK

After marinating time is completed, there are one or two things you can do to help keep the meat from drying out during the grilling process.

• Pan sear the pork on all sides before grilling to help seal in moisture.

• Place the marinated pork in a disposable foil pan on the grill and cover with tin foil, only opening to turn meat. Continue to grill the pork in this manner until it has reached 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the meat is at the correct temperature, remove from foil pan and place on grill rack for one to two minutes each side to give it a bit more flavor(and grill marks).
